Came across this photo on Phil Cardella’s Myspace page. Cardella throws down with Danny Castillo this Sunday at WEC in Corpus Christi.

By the way, we emailed Danny Castillo for an interview for this website. Here is the dialogue:
“Hello Danny,
We’re looking forward to your fight in Corpus Christi for WEC on March 1. We have to admit, we are HUGE Phil Cardella fans and will be cheering for all of the Texas-based fighters on the card.
That being said, we wanted to see if you would be interested in participating in an interview to put on our website, ..www. TexasTestosteroneFestival. com…

1) What is your gameplan against Phil Cardella at WEC on March 1?
2) What’s the one part of your game you’re hoping Phil Cardella does not discover or exploit during your fight?

4) What hotel will you be staying in the night before your fight? What will be the name you’re checked in under?
5) Do your cornermen need directions to the nearest hospital to the American Bank Center?

The fight has come and gone and I guess Mr. Cardella has to hunt some more pigs at night, because that is probably the only thing he can catch after gettin his A”" kick by Danny Castillo. This is what happens when you talk smack and you cant back it up. Danny looks like he wasnt even in a fight…Oh well keep you mouth going Phil see where that gets you….

CAstillo got the shit kicked out of him, I was there, he ran from cardella for two rounds and stalled constantly with takedowns and lay and pray tactics. You’re fucking crazy if you think otherwise. Danny “lay and pray” castillo is what you guys ought to call him. What a fuckng staller, what a fucking joke. Worst decision in years. Ten more seconds in either of the last two rounds and castillo was subbed. FUCK YOU BAD NEWS.

I agree with BAD NEWS. I think its very funny how mr. big shot boar hunter was ready to basically slaughter Castillo and lost in his hometown. Did Phil’s cornermen know where the hospital was? Because I’m pretty sure he was the only one bleeding in that fight. I’d love for everyone to see pictures of Phil, post fight. They’re not pretty. Phil, have fun with your 60 days off!

So how about getting his a watch so he know how much time is left in each round.
I was there to get over it. the fact is Castillo WON!!!!!!!!!!! and i am not sure what fight you watch but Castillo did not run and the fact remain you boy Phil lost and he did not look pretty with blood on his face along with the bruises. Would you like a picture I would be more then glad to send you one so you post!!! he talk so much shit why did he need ten more second he should have finished the fight as he said but he could not

I know you are just routing for your boy Cardella. The facts remain he lost the fight, if you think that was the worse decision of the night you were defintely not watching some other fights on the ie Robello fight. My point you don’t seefighters like St Pierre, BJ Penn, or even Rampage Jackson talk as much shit as Cardella did for his first fight in the WEC. All iam saying is be a professional. Win a couple fights in the WEC before you open your pie hole. As for the FU remark, if that makes you feel better ok. The fact still remains Cardella still has a “L” on his record.

BadNews, I don’t think you can categorize Cardella’s talk as s**t-talking - just the same kind of confident buzz-building and heat generation you get from the BJ Penn’s and Tito Ortiz’s of the world.
Fact is, I wish guys like Rampage and Keith Jardine did deliver the same kinds of quotes BJ Penn and Phil Cardella put out there. There is almost no anticipation for UFC 96 whatsoever because no one on the card is showing any interest in their fights either.
The L? Major asterix there by most reports. At the end of the day, the promoter wants exciting fights and the fans want exciting fights. Lay n pray makes gives an L to all of us who pay to see it and when the judges are unfamiliar with the sport they are supposed to be experts on then we all lose unanimously.

Thanks for the input, I appriciate your cander and insight. I guess we all have our fighter we go for. Like I said there were a couple of fights that were questionable? I know both fighters went out there are fought hard. Good Luck to both fighters in the future……

We are keeping our eyes peeled for fan video. If we get a link before Tuesday we will post it here. At the end of the day, all of us can make up our own minds about what we thought of the performances of both fighters and shape our opinions of them as athletes and performers out of that. Judges be damned.
BadNews, are we right that there is almost zero buzz for UFC 96? Just feel empty about that show over here.

Nothing really being talk about UFC 96. Just looking for Rampage to win to get his shot at the title. It should be a good fight. I also like that heavyweight fight with Munoz. I will see who wins online.
